Preparation work for Montessori
The term we encounter time and time again in Montessori is the principle of preparing the environment. This concept comes from Maria Montessori and is the cornerstone of how we build our homes in a Montessori friendly way to enable children to achieve maximum independent learning, exploration, and action.

When selecting and assembling equipment, please consider your child's height. This is his room, and every item should be at an accessible height. To achieve this, you can always try to reach the height of your child to find inspiration. This will help you understand his feelings in the room, and you can check if everything is really easy to access.

The room is divided into several areas, each with different functions. For example, in a Montessori children's room, there should be at least one sleeping/relaxing area, an area with a table and one or more chairs, and an area where children can play on the floor. These areas should be clearly separated from each other.

Rooms decorated according to Montessori's method often appear minimalist. Do not put things that are not useful to children in the children's room. Of course, there should and maybe decorations - pictures, lighting fixtures, plants, phones. But these things should also be used with caution, as children often become visually disoriented faster than adults. When all unnecessary things in children's rooms are removed, there is a space for learning, trying, discovering, and playing.

If children want to find their own way out in the room, order is crucial. Due to the fact that in Montessori education, it is important to learn to organize and organize from the age of two, so it is particularly important for each item to have its own place.
Minimalist furniture makes this basic order easier. Having five toys instead of fifty makes organizing them more enjoyable for everyone involved.

Independence should only be promoted through the design of the room. If all the items prepared for children are placed in a place where they can use them without assistance, they will feel competent in the room.
